As he mulls over his future, departing Rangers defender Borna Barisic is weighing up a sizable offer from Turkish Super Lig team Trabzonspor.

The left back’s contract with the Ibrox club expires at the end of the current campaign, thus it is anticipated that the Croatian international will leave as a free agent this summer. As he approached the last six months of his contract in January, Barisic was given permission to communicate with prospective suitors abroad.

Rangers has not offered him a contract renewal, and first-team manager Philippe Clement is willing to let him leave after reconsidering his choices on the field. This year, Ridvan Yilmaz has established himself as a consistent starter, and a transfer for Fluminense wing-back Jefte is still being considered.

Trabzonspor has put up a bid for Barisic and his representation to review, but the player will take some time to weigh all of his alternatives, according to Football Scotland. The 31-year-old and Football Insider have not agreed on terms, despite the fact that the amount being offered in Turkey is reportedly a sizable one.

In 230 games during his tenure in Glasgow, Barisic has 10 goals and 54 assists in his sixth season with the Light Blues. Even if Clement’s arrival has limited his playing time, he is still thought to be of interest to those south of the border.
