Rafael Leao, an attacker for AC Milan, conveyed a single word to Youssef Chermiti, a striker for Everton.
It follows on Thursday, March 21, when the Goodison Park player made his Portugal Under-21 debut and scored a goal.
In a Euro 2025 qualifying match, his country defeated the Faroe Islands Under-21s 4-0, with Chermiti scoring the game’s only goal.
Chermiti celebrated by posting on social media, saying on Instagram, “Very delighted to make my U21 debut and being able to score a goal! We depart once more.
Leao, who scored in Portugal’s 5-2 victory over Sweden on Thursday, was one among the commenters on the post.
Youssef Chermiti, an Everton striker, relishes his dream Portugal Chermiti, who made his Under-21 debut this season, hasn’t had many occasions to rejoice since joining Everton in the summer from Sporting.
However, he will have thoroughly enjoyed making his Portugal Under-21s debut and contributing to his country’s continued success in the Euro 2025 qualifiers.
Leao, the star player for AC Milan who won Serie A with the Italian powerhouses in 2021–2022, was also on point when it came to representing his country, scoring the first goal in a friendly match between Portugal and Sweden.
After rising through the youth ranks, the winger is now playing at a high level for the senior team, and Chermiti undoubtedly hopes for a similar future.
However, a Portugal debut is a long way off, especially if Sean Dyche at Everton keeps passing on the striker.
His goal may have earned Dyche more respect, which has increased his chances of receiving a call-up.
Despite his 13 senior Toffees appearances without a goal, Chermiti may have been signed as a potential star, given the season has been disappointing for all of the club’s strikers.
