Ross McCormack saw footage of Leeds United sensation Archie Gray’s performance for the England U-21s and posted a three-word comment on social media.
After coming off the bench for his U-21s debut, the 18-year-old scored inside five minutes to help the team defeat Azerbaijan U-21s 5-1 on Friday, March 22.
McCormack commented, “superb young man,” in response to a video of the Whites academy product scoring his goal that was released on the Three Lions’ official Instagram page.
Archie Gray of Leeds United is having a great time.
After securing a starting position in the Leeds squad and excelling internationally, Gray has had an amazing season thus far.
The midfielder has now played for four different England age groups over the past year. He has spent the majority of this campaign playing right-back for the Whites.
The Three Lions think highly of him, as evidenced by his recent call-up, which came after he was quickly promoted to the U-21 squad for their most recent matches.
The teenager will be hoping his incredible cameo off the bench can help him secure some more minutes when they take on Luxembourg on 26 March.
Daniel Farke will be keeping a keen eye on his progress over the next few days and will be hoping he returns from international duty fit and well as he looks to help his side claim promotion this season.
