It has now been revealed that Nottingham Forest wants to offer a new City Ground contract to one of their defenders, after the completion of a deal for Willy Boly.
Ever since they were promoted to the Premier League, the Reds have become synonymous with transfer activity. It now looks as though another busy window is ahead of us, no matter which division the clubs are in.
Last week, Forest lost four points as a consequence of breaking PSR regulations. Since then, Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo have been connected to leaving Forest.
It is now being said that Forest wants to ensure that they retain a portion of their present team. Boly may receive a new contract offer from the team, although another defender may also receive a contract extension.
Nottingham Forest will extend Ola Aina’s contract.
The Telegraph reports that Forest appears to be extremely busy toward the end of the season, with Aina at the center of the team’s negotiations for a new contract.
For the most part, Aina’s rookie season at Forest has gone well. To help the cause, he has played a variety of positions, with the full-back position being one he can truly call his own.
Aina joined Forest on a free transfer from Torino in the summer and has made 14 appearances for the team in 2023–2024. But since a 2-1 victory over Manchester United in December, he hasn’t really appeared on the field.
The 27-year-old suffered an injury when he recently returned from the African Cup of Nations. He received excellent reviews for his skills at the event and assisted Nigeria in finishing second.
Aina made a fast impression on the team after joining Forest in the summer. It looks like the Reds are eager to keep him at the team beyond his one-year contract extension.
Aina merits a new contract at City Ground.
It is truly unfortunate that Aina had an injury upon her return from the AFCON. His presence on the team could be welcomed by Forest as they attempt to halt a bad run of results.
Forest will be hoping to have Aina available to them very soon, as the team is now sliding into the relegation zone due to the points deduction.
It appears that action may be made since Forest won’t want to take the chance of Aina leaving the team on a free transfer given that his performances have been mainly strong this season.
Aina has only been dribbled past by Forest on six occasions this season, according to Who Scored. He has also made 29 clearances, and his defensive prowess is evident to all.
Hopefully, Forest can immediately lock Aina into a new contract. We think it would be fantastic to know going into the upcoming campaign that a player capable of playing either full-back position will be sticking at the City Ground.
