Marcus Edwards, a winger for Sporting CP, is apparently of interest to Crystal Palace as Oliver Glasner prepares for the summer transfer window to bolster his team.

Oliver Glasner will be busy this summer at Crystal Palace as he gets ready to make adjustments to the team that he took over from Roy Hodgson last month.

The star combo of Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze are anticipated to leave the Eagles during the transfer window, and a lot of rumors have already started to circulate about their futures.

Nevertheless, Glasner is eager to add more skill to the team, therefore the South Londoners are also ready to welcome a few new players.

This summer, Crystal Palace might step up their offensive.
According to reports earlier today, HITC journalist Graeme Bailey told We Are Palace that Palace wants to recruit a striker in the summer and that the club is considering signing Serhou Guirassy and Eddie Nketiah.

According to recent reports, the Eagles may be tempted to expand their wide areas in addition to adding depth to the front line. Former Tottenham youth standout Marcus Edwards has been linked to a move to Selhurst.

The 25-year-old Edwards is reportedly “one of Glasner’s requests” for the upcoming season, according to reports from the Portuguese news source A Bola.

Although the manager obviously thinks highly of the Sporting CP star, there might be a small hitch because the player’s release clause is set at €60 million (£57 million), a price that could be decreased if the correct amount is offered.

What Crystal Palace could get from Marcus Edwards
Edwards, who came up through Tottenham’s levels, is aware of what it takes to play in England.

Since joining Sporting in 2022, the winger from London has flourished, amassing 104 appearances across all competitions and assisting on 46 goals.

The Englishman has contributed 14 goals this season, including six goals and eight assists, giving Glasner’s offense a taste of what he could be able to offer.

Once lauded as “wonderful” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, Edwards’ style of play is something that would excite Palace, with his pace, skill and strong outlet traceable to the assets seen in Olise’s game.

Averaging 5.94 progressive carries per 90 over the past year, the 25-year-old ranks in the top 7% of wingers in Europe’s top five leagues, via FBref, showcasing just how dangerous he can be when on the ball.

Deployed primarily on the right side, the former Spurs gem could be seen as a potential replacement for Olise, if the Frenchman was to depart the club in the summer amid a host of interest.

Only time will tell if Glasner is serious about acquiring the talent of Edwards, with there being no doubt of the quality he could offer Palace.
