On Saturday, West Ham United will play Newcastle United in the Premier League at St. James’ Park.
We need to win on Tyneside since Newcastle is now four points and three spots behind West Ham in the Premier League standings.
Eight of Hammers manager David Moyes’ first team players are currently overseas on international duty; he will be hoping that they all return to Rush Green in the same physical condition as when they went.
West Ham currently holds a commanding lead in both the Premier League and the Europa League. To make any kind of impact in the last two months of the 2023–24 season, we will require a complete complement of players.
We’ve recently had some dismal league results, including back-to-back home draws with Burnley and Aston Villa.
The main issue for Moyes and his team is that they have a really difficult schedule coming up, with matches against Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle, and Liverpool scheduled for the next month or two.
This weekend in Newcastle, we can expect no less than a draw, but to be very honest, I believe we should go there believing we have to win.
And with that in mind, the latest news is not very good for us whatsoever…
Possible monumental blow for West Ham ahead of Newcastle match
Anyone who enjoys club football finds the two-week international break to be extremely inconvenient, particularly around this time of year.
The season is in its last stretch, and any issues that players have while traveling with their different countries might have a major impact on their clubs.
Unfortunately for us, it seems like we could be the victim of this…
Mohammed Kudus, an attacker for the Hammers, has a 50% chance of being ready for our match against Newcastle on Saturday, according to Premier Injuries.
The outstanding 23-year-old pulled out of the Ghana team last week due to a shoulder issue.
Kudus, who cost around £38 million when he was signed by Moyes from Ajax in the summer of 2023, has scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 34 outings for the Hammers this season (Transfermarkt).
The strong Ghanaian winger is a great talent who has so far taken the Premier League by storm. He is a key component of everything well that our team accomplishes.
I think West Ham will have a serious problem defeating the Toon if he is unavailable for the match against Newcastle.
