As the end of the 2023–24 season draws near, Coventry City assistant manager Adi Viveash has discussed the team’s preparations for the summer transfer market.
The Sky Blues still have a chance to make the playoffs for the second straight year with less than ten games remaining in the regular season. They are four points behind the Canaries and have a game in hand on Norwich City, who presently occupy the final play-off berth.
City already has a lot on their plate with the prospect of further post-season games and an FA Cup semifinal matchup at Wembley versus Manchester United. However, they have thought through the movements they will make in the summer, and Viveash has revealed what the club hopes to accomplish during the summer transfer window.

Despite their current strength in that area, Coventry will probably aim to add more options to their wing lineup, according to the manager’s right-hand man, Mark Robins, in an interview with Coventry Live.
“I think we’ll be looking for more choices in wide areas, it’s fair to say,” Viveash added. Since Ephron Mason-Clark has signed, we can be certain that someone will be there. The 54-year-old made mention of Callum O’Hare, a standout attacking midfield player, as well. O’Hare, 25, has an expiration date in the summer. According to Robins, he will not accept the new contract that has been given to him—or any deal, for that matter—until the summer because he wants to leave his options open and wait to hear from any Premier League clubs. According to Viveash, the club may attempt to replace him based on how that situation plays out.

For the upcoming summer, Coventry must find a successor for Callum O’Hare.
It’s possible that less focus was placed on finding viable replacements because the former Aston Villa player’s form has cooled off over the previous month and Coventry has continued to win. However, Viveash clarified, if they need to replace him with someone like Torp, City will need to come up with intricate plans for how to set up their midfields.
There is still a dearth of depth at that position, even if they believe Palmer might fill the need. If they don’t want to bring in a player to challenge the Jamaican international right away, then searching further down the leagues for some emerging talent, such as a Davis Keillor-Dunn from Mansfield, might be a decent choice.
