Declan Rice, a standout for England and Arsenal, received a three-word letter from West Ham United loanee Kalvin Phillips. It follows the latter’s 50th Three Lions outing on Tuesday, March 26, when he captained England against Belgium.

At Wembley, Gareth Southgate’s team and the Red Devils drew 2-2 in their international friendly.

Rice celebrated his 50th cap and becoming captain by posting on Instagram with the caption, “Captaining my country & 50th cap.” Dreams.

Hammers player Phillips was one of the numerous players who congratulated Rice, writing: “Legend brother congrats.”

Kalvin Phillips, of West Ham, is not included on the England roster.
Although Rice and Phillips, two midfielders, are in quite different phases of their careers, they are undoubtedly closely associated with West Ham.

Following multiple years at the East London club, Rice made a high-profile move to Arsenal in the summer, and the England star made an instant impact at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Phillips had a difficult time getting into the game during the first part of the season at Manchester City, which led to a loan move in January to the London Stadium, where he remained until the end of the season.

However, he lost his spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad due to a bad run of form, and it seems unlikely that he will make a comeback very soon.

Rice, on the other hand, is among the first names on the Three Lions roster and will undoubtedly be important at this summer’s Euro 2024.

Given Rice’s prominence in claret and blue, many Hammers supporters will continue to follow him and wish him well for both club and nation even when he moves to a rival in London.
