This month’s international break was exciting for Adam Wharton as it was his first since joining Crystal Palace.

Thanks to several outstanding performances, the Crystal Palace No. 20 was promoted from the England U20 squad to the England U21 setup. He made his debut for the new age group in a 7-0 victory against Luxembourg.

Adam Wharton really got a message from a player that Crystal Palace wanted to sign after that decisive victory.

Adam Wharton receives a telegram from Crystal Palace
Lewis Hall, that is, was the one who contacted the 19-year-old.

According to a recent article by Alan Nixon, Dougie Freedman is closely monitoring Newcastle’s No. 20 player, even though it’s unclear if the Magpies will actually sign him long-term.

Newcastle and Chelsea reached a loan agreement back in August, delaying Hall’s transfer to Selhurst Park in the process. If a predetermined number of appearances are made, the move becomes permanent for a fee of £28 million.

The 19-year-old has only made 12 appearances so far this season, though, and Nixon thinks Freedman is prepared to make an offer to recruit the young player from Chelsea provided Newcastle isn’t mentioned.

Now that the two 19-year-olds seem to be buddies, Wharton might also have a role.

Clearly thrilled with his friend’s success, Hall commented “😍” on the £22 million Crystal Palace player’s Instagram photo commemorating his England U21 debut.

Wharton found the remark endearing.

Lewis Hall would be ideal.
Oliver Glasner would be best served by Hall at the left wing-back position, despite Tyrick Mitchell’s skill.

The Slough-born defender is a fantastic technical with the ability to seriously disrupt games in the closing third.

After Hall scored in the Carabao Cup earlier this season at Old Trafford against Manchester United, Gary Neville even called him a “beautiful” football player. Gareth Southgate has also offered Hall to train with England.

Given that he plays for the Magpies, the defender was destined to be a huge hit on Tyneside, thus the scenario at Newcastle is really peculiar.

However, it would be a huge benefit for Glasner if Freedman could somehow get Hall to Crystal Palace as a result of the wonderkid’s issues under Eddie Howe.
