When it comes to a Premier League match against Newcastle, West Ham supporters will be hoping that the adage “no news is good news” holds true.

This Saturday, West Ham will visit Newcastle in the Premier League in what amounts to a six-pointer.

Before the match, the Hammers are four points and three spots ahead of Newcastle in seventh position.

After Liverpool won the Carabao Cup, that will be sufficient for West Ham to secure European qualifying for a fourth consecutive season.

However, Newcastle still has a match against the Hammers.

And in the battle for a European position, Eddie Howe’s team will be motivated to try and catch up to West Ham.

West Ham vs. Newcastle is a six-pointer in Europe.
Injuries have decimated Newcastle ahead of the St. James’s Park game. With three players doubtful and six players out for the Hammers due to injury, Howe lost another important player this week.

However, David Moyes is also quite concerned about Mohammed Kudus and the disappearance of Edson Alvarez.

The standout player for West Ham is only rated 50-50 for the match, according to reports from earlier this week. That comes after he had to withdraw from the Ghana team due to a shoulder injury.

However, after an official report ahead of Newcastle, let’s hope that there is no news—or in this case, no Mo news—that is good news for the Hammers.

Is there any good news for Hammers regarding Kudus?
The club has stated that Alvarez will be absent due to suspension in the team news section of West Ham’s official match preview against the Magpies.

Following an injury, Maxwel Cornet may be considered for the Hammers. However, Kudus has received no word at all.

In order to keep the opposition guessing, Moyes prefers to keep team news under wraps.

So, all we can do is hope that the absence of Mo news indicates a problem.

Because Kudus is essential to our aspirations of regaining that European position.

Could West Ham profit from Newcastle’s injury crisis?
particularly considering that during the previous five years, the Hammers had a really bad record versus Newcastle.

Since 2019, West Ham has only triumphed once in their previous nine Premier League encounters.

And in four of those matchups, the east Londoners have fallen short.

In the final stretch, a victory for West Ham would create a sizable lead between the two teams.

The manager of West Ham is undoubtedly helped by Newcastle’s injury crisis in his efforts to strike a balance. But we also need to keep in mind how important Alvarez is.
