Former England player and EFL Pundit Carlton Palmer believes Paul Mullin would not want to leave Wrexham, especially now that League One promotion seems imminent.
Mullin has spent the last three seasons with Wrexham and was a vital component of their National League promotion the previous year.
In 46 National League games the previous season, he scored 38 goals. In 39 league games the season before, he scored 28 goals.
With 16 goals and five assists in 31 league games so far this season, he has advanced to League Two in impressive form.
With Phil Parkinson’s team presently lying in third place, three points ahead of the play-off spots, and three points off the top spot, the Red Dragons are attempting to make it back-to-back promotions to League One.
Palmer believes Mullin will stay with promotion almost a guarantee
Palmer just stated to FLW, “It’s difficult to watch Wrexham not get promoted this season.” They are actively searching for a record-breaking back-to-back promotion. Paul Mullin is one of the players who has been doing well for them lately.
“In 29 games this season in all competitions, he has 17 goals. At 28, he is quite ambitious, but he wants to be involved in the project that Wrexham is working on, I’m sure of it. Paul Mullin is a crucial component of the football team’s operations, thus I will be shocked if Wrexham is not promoted for the second year in a row at the end of the season.
“I would be astonished beyond belief. He will receive a good salary because the owners are quite wealthy, and as I mentioned before, Wrexham is currently on a journey. Once Wrexham is promoted this summer, the owners plan to return. Paul won’t have any problems, in my opinion, and Wrexham will be pleased if he can continue to score goals to help the team advance this season.
Mullin should focus on promotion before deciding his future
Mullin should just concentrate on trying to get promoted, even though his future may be up in the air and he may be considering what he would do if they don’t succeed in getting promoted.
Mullin should be devoting all of his efforts to ensuring that the team gets promoted back to the third division of English football at the first opportunity, as it would be a wonderful accomplishment.
Although there is a lot of competition at the top, Wrexham appears to have a good chance of moving up because of their three-point advantage over MK Dons in fourth place and the fact that MK Dons have played one more game than Wrexham.
Mullin’s career may be in jeopardy if Wrexham is not promoted, as he may believe he is now prepared to play in League One after last doing it with Tranmere Rovers in 2020.
