Odsonne Edouard and Matheus Franca will not be playing for Crystal Palace against Nottingham Forest, according to Oliver Glasner’s confirmation.

Amid the mid-season training camp in Marbella, Edouard sustained an injury that prevented him from playing in the 1-0 victory over Bodo/Glimt.

The 26-year-old started the first match under Glasner, a 3-0 victory over Burnley, but in the two games prior, he started from the bench.

Franca, a Brazilian attacker, sustained a groin injury prior to Luton’s 1-1 loss.

In the victory over Burnley, the 19-year-old received a penalty kick and an assist.

“They’re not available,” Glasner declared.

Odsonne is currently practicing on the field while he recovers.

He was sliding as a striker in training when he pressed his knee into the ground, which made for an unusual scenario.

“It’s not that serious, and the team might have him back the following week.”

Matheus is experiencing a groin issue. It’s a little harder because he experiences discomfort again when we up the intensity of his exercise.

“I’m not sure when exactly he’ll return.”

During the mid-season trip to Spain, Glasner brought along Danny Imray, Franco Umeh, Justin Devenny, and Kaden Roney.

A 2-0 friendly victory over Millwall over the international break saw more goals from Roshaun Mathurin. For the first time since joining the Eagles as a free agent in the summer, Glasner revealed the former Tottenham player would be in the starting lineup for the match on Saturday at the City Ground.

“They and the players from the academy we brought in during the international break really impressed me,” Glasner remarked.

“Roshaun deserves to be in the team tomorrow because he scored the second goal against Millwall.

“I was pleased with their Marbella appearance. “Show your strengths – don’t worry about mistakes,” I advised them.

“They performed it well and demonstrated what they could.”
