Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has called the West Ham United supporters who are demanding that David Moyes be fired at the London Stadium “crazy.”

The Irons’ dismal performance in the Championship has put greater pressure on the Hammers manager in 2024. Some fans have suggested that a new manager would be able to extract more performance from the West Ham team.

Howe has acknowledged that he is perplexed by the growing pressure on Moyes in East London, even if it appears probable that the Scotsman will now stay past the conclusion of the season.

He stated, “It’s crazy, he has been consistent in the Premier League for some time and you always know what you are going to get from his teams,” as reported by Chronicle Live on Friday, March 29.

“He performed admirably there last year, winning medals and running a strong, steady campaign. Each of us has a demanding work and is subject to pressure. A terrible period adds pressure, and that’s just part of the current situation.

Will West Ham United sack David Moyes despite Eddie Howe’s comments?

Although Moyes’ relationship with West Ham supporters has been turbulent during his two stints at the London Stadium, he has demonstrated in recent weeks that he is deserving of a contract extension that extends past the end of the current campaign.

Although the pressure has somewhat decreased following the Europa League victory over Freiburg and significant Premier League victories over teams like Brentford and Everton, some fans are still not happy.

It would be utterly absurd to switch out the dugout this summer should The Hammers advance farther in the Europa League and possibly secure a spot in a European competition again the following season.

The absence of a strategy for after the current campaign ends can’t be good for anyone in East London, so maybe Moyes’ position will become clearer in the weeks leading up to the end of the season.

In other West Ham news, Paul Merson offered his forecast for the match between Newcastle and the Hammers.
