Despite his struggles with fitness, Dele Alli sent an encouraging message on Instagram, urging others to “never give up”.
Consequently, what happened?
Dele has not yet featured for Everton this season; in October 2022, he made his final appearance in a professional football game while on loan at Besiktas. That was against Umraniyespor, and his final Toffees game was a nine-minute cameo against Aston Villa in August of the same year.
However, he has now encouraged his followers not to give up in an uplifting Instagram post.

While playing for Besiktas, Dele tore a muscle, and in January, he had surgery on his groin. He also talked candidly last year about his personal battles with mental illness, disclosing that he had experienced childhood sexual abuse and battled a sleeping medication addiction.
DELE’S QUOTES
“Rest, restart, and refocus as many times as you need,” Dele posted on Instagram. Your greatest project is yourself. Never give up. He included a video and a montage of practice shots with the post.
Next?
Whether Dele can play for Everton before the end of the season or if his contract expires this summer and he leaves on a free transfer is still up in the air. The Toffees take on Newcastle on Tuesday as they fight for survival in the league.
