In a funny reaction to Wrexham’s decisive victory against Mansfield Town, Ryan Reynolds insisted that the top of the league is a “wasteland of anxiety”.

Consequently, what happened?
The Welsh team knew going into their match against the league leaders that they needed to win in order to maintain their hopes of earning back-to-back promotions. On the same day, Stockport defeated MK Dons 5-0 and Wrexham won 2-0, moving them up to the top, ahead of Mansfield and Reynolds’ team. The three teams are separated by just one point, therefore goal differential might determine automatic promotion, even though Wrexham’s team is the worst of the three and behind Mansfield by 16 goals.

With just six games left in the season, Wrexham is about to enter a crucial phase of the competition. Amazingly, they will play in Stockport on the last day of the season, which might very well be crucial. Deadpool star Reynolds is fully aware of how difficult the run-in will be.

THOUGH REYNOLDS SAID
“One of the biggest matches of the season,” he wrote on Instagram. The league’s top third is a wasteland of worries and anxiety.”

FUTURE PLANS FOR WREXHAM?
The next game Wrexham plays is on Tuesday against Doncaster. In order to increase their chances of earning automatic promotion, Phil Parkinson’s team will have to secure another victory over their opponents, who are presently ranked 15th.
