Eddie Nketiah, an Arsenal center striker, was linked to Crystal Palace in January and may pique their attention again in the run-up to the summer transfer window. Reputable journalist Ben Jacobs has now told GIVEMESPORT that Eddie Nketiah’s departure from Emirates Stadium may depend on one thing.

Despite the lack of consistent middle-field options for Arteta and his group, the Englishman is clearly very low on the club’s priority list, with Kai Havertz most recently being the team’s favorite option.

Nketiah’s future in north London appears to be grim given that he has only played 1,360 minutes in all competitions this season, especially since his employers are looking to add a new striker.

Arsenal Retains Nketiah’s Price Tag
Nketiah is attracting attention because of the January transfer window. The London-born striker attracted interest from Palace, but Arteta was eager to keep him around given the Gunners’ competitive Premier League campaign, seeing the striker as a “important player.”

Nketiah, however, has only played 58 minutes in league play since the mid-season window closed and has only had a 15-minute appearance in the Champions League against Porto. Given his lack of playing time, GIVEMESPORT sources have disclosed that a number of top division clubs in England are monitoring the 24-year-old due to concerns over his future in north London.

As previously mentioned, Arsenal plans to add more center forwards to their roster in the summer, which might leave Nketiah unemployed. Releasing players such as the Englishman will yield revenue for signing a new striker, all the while abiding by the Premier League’s profit and sustainability (PSR) policies.

Regarding Nketiah’s asking price, Jacobs recently stated to GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal would settle for a sum of money somewhere in the region of £30 million. And while it may not seem like a big investment in the big picture, it will be for teams like Palace that are in the bottom half of the Premier League rankings.

Jacobs: Palace May Revive Interest in Nketiah in January According to Jacobs, who spoke with GIVEMESPORT, Nketiah’s sale to Arsenal would go much more smoothly if they signed a new striker. This is even though Nketiah is a valuable member of Arteta’s squad and will remain so until the end of their title-chasing campaign.

Jacobs disclosed that one of the interested parties is Oliver Glasner’s Palace, and that their interest may arise in January when the summer transfer market opens. The reporter added Wolverhampton Wanderers to the list of elite teams monitoring the out-of-favour striker and said that the departures of Joao Gomes and Pedro Neto would provide enough cash and room for someone of Nketiah’s caliber. Jacobs stated:

Crystal Palace ‘Confident’ Now of Getting Ben Johnson
In addition to strengthening their defense, Glasner and company hope to bolster their front line with more firepower come summertime. With 49 goals allowed in the Premier League so far, the capital club would be wise to recruit players like Ben Johnson of West Ham United. Currently ranked in 14th place.

During his first summer transfer window at Selhurst Park, insiders have told GIVEMESPORT that Glasner is becoming increasingly confident that they are close to finalizing a deal for the 24-year-old English right-back.

The 10-cap England Under-21 international’s lack of playing time at the London Stadium makes Johnson’s free agency an alluring prospect for Palace executives, and they won’t be shocked if they can’t close a deal. Johnson has only made 11 appearances in the top level this season, so he may be looking to Palace to help him revive his career.
