With a really strong performance against Manchester City, Crystal Palace felt as though the Oliver Glasner era had finally come.

Although it wasn’t that easy, Pep Guardiola’s triple winners overcame Crystal Palace 4-2 on the scoreboard.

Even though they lost, Oliver Glasner’s team gave what was perhaps their best performance to date.

After Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the first goal, Palace gave Manchester City a run for their money and even a few scares throughout significant stretches of the match.

There was a definite strategy and emphasis on pushing high during the game, and Adam Wharton even forced a nearly expensive error out of Rodri.

Marc Guehi’s assessment of Glasner’s greatest advancement seems even more reasonable in light of this performance.

This is what he stated:

Marc Guehi describes the transformation of Crystal Palace under Oliver Glasner.
Guehi was questioned about what he believed to be the biggest change under Glasner prior to the game on TNT Sports.

For long stretches of the game, Palace responded to this with a straightforward move.

A great deal of running. intensity, and we required that motivation for our match.

The football that Palace played under Roy Hodgson was very different from this high-intensity game, and Palace is now starting to reap the benefits.

The first goal, which involved winning the ball back and swiftly counterattacking, was exactly how Glasner would imagine his goals to be scored.

In equally dramatic circumstances, Palace was a Wharton pass away from potentially making it 2-0.

But Glasner has made other advancements as well.

Glasner has improved the way people think.
After the game, Glasner was happy with his team’s level of competition rather than overjoyed.

However, he also clarified what his team had to do to prevail in a match like that.

“This gives me confidence again since we are competing against any team.

Additionally, we have had three, four, or five excellent opportunities to score in every game since coming here.

“To win a game like this, we need to be more compact even though we scored two today.”

When compared to the Hodgson mindset, which saw fans called “spoilt,” this mentality is incredibly refreshing.

The future is beginning to appear extremely promising.
