Newcastle United might have a challenging summer.

Newcastle may need to make tough choices, even though they still have a ton to play for the rest of the season.

In fact, Eddie Howe has already acknowledged that the club would probably have a “difficult summer” due to the ongoing FFP restrictions.

It was even suggested during the January transfer window that the team could have to sell one of its most valuable assets if they had made a major purchase.

Unfortunately, Bruno Guimaraes has been a major topic of discussion when it comes to departing this summer.

Prior to The Athletic’s report that he may depart this summer, the midfield player was heavily linked to a move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week.

On his 100th Newcastle appearance on Saturday, Guimaraes scored the game-winning goal against Fulham, but he also sent a message about his future.

Regarding the future of the Newcastle move, Bruno Guimaraes makes it obvious.
After the match, the 26-year-old said to Premier League Productions, “I hope to stay much longer.”

“I hope to play much more for Newcastle United, but we’ll see what the future holds.”

Bruno Guimaraes’ sale by Newcastle would be devastating.
Even if Guimaraes seems willing to stay at Newcastle, he could still be persuaded to accept a sizable offer elsewhere.

Unfortunately, that’s just the way modern football is.

It would be incredibly heartbreaking to have to sell him because of money worries. If this were still the Mike Ashley era, it makes sense that he would be longing for a move, but things have changed at Newcastle.

The predicament is made even more painful by selling him in order to keep the FFP equivalent of the proverbial wolf from the door.

He’s too graceful to force a move, but given how frequently he’s been linked to moving out, it’s honestly difficult to imagine him sticking around in the long run.
