When Celtic welcomes the Ibrox men back to Parkhead, Adam Idah is adamant that they will be primed to go against Rangers.
The Hoops forward put his team ahead 3-2 in Sunday’s titanic Old Firm match, and he was minutes away from becoming a derby hero. After the divide, Rabbi Matondo’s stoppage time stunner helped the Gers recover a point and set up another blockbuster across the city. Idah is eagerly awaiting the next installment at Celtic Park after being completely enthralled with his first derby experience at Ibrox.
“I was disappointed not to get the winner, but we got a point at the end of the day and we’re happy,” the Republic of Ireland star stated. Although the boys persevered and played well, it was disappointing not to win all three points, and we still had to play them at home.
Idah praised the Hoops team for winning the championship even though he acknowledged that the match was an insane match in Govan. If the Gers win their match at Dundee tomorrow night, they might go two points ahead.
However, Celtic’s last six games, including the league’s final derby, will all be played at home four times. Since joining Celtics on loan from Norwich in January, Idah has scored six goals, half of which have come in the last five minutes of play.
“I’ve managed to get a couple of late goals for Norwich and Celtic this season,” he remarked. I constantly strive to give the team my all. The youngsters performed admirably throughout, and it was incredible that they scored the goal so early.
“It was insane; it was an incredible first experience.” The boys performed an amazing job without any Celtic supporters. I am excited to play them at home now that I had a positive experience with them. Saturday’s matchup with St. Mirren will be a fantastic litmus test for us. We’ll be prepared when we play the Rangers in our upcoming test.
