On the eight-year anniversary of his West Ham hat-trick against Arsenal at the Boleyn Ground, Andy Carroll responded to a video posted on social media.
Eight years have passed since the Premier League icon’s three goals past David Ospina on Tuesday, April 9, during the Hammers’ 3-3 draw with the Gunners at their former stadium.
Fans will enjoy watching any footage from the Boleyn Ground, as West Ham currently plays their games at the London Stadium, which has drawn criticism since it moved.
On Tuesday, April 9, Carroll responded to West Ham’s official post via X, writing, “Some great memories at this club.”
Andy Carroll and West Ham United are in love.
Carroll, who scored seven goals in 24 games while on loan from Newcastle United and then earned a permanent transfer where he scored 27 goals in 118 games, was by no means a prolific striker with the Hammers.
Despite this, the 35-year-old had a trick or two up his sleeve, leaving West Ham fans with some special memories, whether that be at the Boleyn Ground or the London Stadium.
The overhead bicycle kick that helped the Hammers defeat Crystal Palace 3-0 in the Premier League in 2017 stands out as one of the most amazing performances to be remembered.
Carroll, who left Reading in the summer of 2023, is still active in football, which may surprise some. He currently plays for Amiens in Ligue 2, where he has scored four goals in thirty games.
Although it is unlikely that the striker will be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, Hammers supporters will be appreciative of his efforts during the course of his seven years with the team, particularly in the times when he scored a hat-trick against Arsenal.
Carroll wasn’t the worst goal scorer at West Ham, even with their disastrous striker choices throughout the years.
