Jakub Moder of Brighton & Hove Albion had a significant knee injury in April 2022. He missed more than eighteen months of play before making his comeback in November.

The Poland international was called up to the national squad last month as a result of his 14 outings under Roberto De Zerbi since then.

Before Poland manager Michał Probierz left him out of the squad to face Wales in the Euros play-offs, he came off the bench against Estonia.

Super Express is quoting the Brighton player from his appearance on Canal Plus’ Jej wysokość Premier League on Monday.

Probierz has already declared that he thought the 25-year-old was unprepared to play against Wales. This might not be the case given that, just days after Poland’s match against Wales, he played 83 minutes for Brighton in their 2-1 loss to Liverpool.
This is noted in the report along with the addition that Moder “was dissatisfied” with Probierz’s choice to leave him out of the team to play Wales.

Naturally, I was upset when the coach informed me that I wouldn’t be making the team, and in a way, I believe that this was a typical reaction. Since it was a qualifying match, I thought I could contribute to this crucial encounter,” he remarked.

“I accepted the coach’s choice. From the stands, I cheered for the squad. It happens, I was unable to stop such a decision from happening.

The Brighton player has also been quoted by Przegląd Sportowy, in which he expresses his ambition to be included in Poland’s summer team for the European Championship.

“I want to go to the Euros and, above all, I have to play for the club to earn this call-up,” Moder clarified. “My goal is still the same.”
