This season, Jack Hinshelwood’s rise to prominence has been one of Brighton’s biggest advantages.
The versatile youth made his Premier League debut at Aston Villa on the last day of the 2022–2023 season. Roberto De Zerbi, the head coach, had noticed him towards the close of the previous season.
After making an impression during the preseason tour of America, Hinshelwood pushed his way into the starting lineup for this term. Before a foot injury ended his season, he made 17 first team appearances for Brighton, demonstrating his poise, tactical knowledge, and goal-scoring ability. His performances in the Europa League, his headed goals against Crystal Palace and Brentford, and his incredible goal against Tottenham were his highlights.
This week, his efforts were rewarded with a contract that runs until June 2028. Hinshelwood told the Albion website, “Scoring against Palace was my most enjoyable moment.” “As a Brighton player, I don’t think there’s anything more satisfying than scoring against them.
“Throughout my career, I haven’t scored many headers, but I’ve always been in favorable places. It seems strange to think that I’ve scored in the Premier League; when we were playing every few days, I didn’t have much time to think about it. However, since I’ve been injured, I’ve had a chance to consider my accomplishments, and I want to attempt to do even more now.
He went on, “I don’t think I needed much convincing” about his new contract. There is only one direction the club is going, and that is up. Participating in it is exciting.
“I’ll be fired up for the upcoming season.” Clearly, the main focus is on what we can accomplish right now and on attempting to return to Europe. However, I personally can’t wait to return to the field during preseason play and challenge for a spot in the starting lineup.
