WHAT HAPPENED?

Despite their wonderful showings at home, the Red Dragons have only won seven times away from home in 21 attempts. This has prompted Wrexham fans to chant about ‘never winning away from home’. While it came off as banter, Mullin has criticised the chants for diminishing the morale of the players.

WHAT MULLIN SAID

Speaking to the media, Mullin said [via @RobRyanRed on X]: “One thing I never want to hear them singing is about us never winning away from home. What do you think that does to the players who are on the pitch representing their team? I know it’s all about having a good time, they deserve to when they pay their hard-earned money, but I think some of the lads have been speaking about it and we don’t really like to hear that.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

After a 2-1 comeback win away against Colchester thanks to goals from Mullin and Max Cleworth, the Red Dragons now sit second in the league, four points behind Stockport County. With MK Dons two points behind them despite having played one game more, Wrexham look set for automatic qualification to League One next season barring a late collapse.

WHAT NEXT FOR MULLIN?

The last four games of the season could be critical for Phil Parkinson’s side and Mullin will look to lead the team to automatic promotion and maybe even the League Two title. They play away just once more this season when they take on Crewe Alexandra on April 20.
