To lose one right back is unfortunate, but to lose sounds like a reshuffle. As preposterous as that sounds, it’s precisely where West Ham could find themselves in just three months. Because not only is Ben Johnson on the cusp of leaving the Hammers, but Coufal could be off too.
According to Turkish media reports, Besiktas are showing a strong interest in signing Vladimir Coufal during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Turkish club is reportedly in the market for a new right back and has set their sights on the Czech international, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
Besiktas intends to speak with Coufal prior to the end of the season in an attempt to convince him to join their team, even though West Ham has the option to extend the 31-year-old’s contract for an extra year this summer.
Hopefully Tim Steiden has already picked one or two successors and there is a succession plan in place. Wingers, forwards, midfielders, and defenders are all needed for the Irons’ huge summer makeover. However, West Ham will need to find deals in certain areas to bolster the squad since Financial Fair Play is being enforced more aggressively.
