Julio Enciso, a young player for Brighton & Hove Albion, has directly stated he is not hurt and is being held out this weekend as a precaution.
In an effort to dispel any speculation regarding his fitness, the midfielder has been chatting with ABC Cardinal 730 AM, as reported by RCC, about his circumstances.
Enciso had a somewhat breakout season with the Seagulls the previous season, but he hasn’t played much for Brighton this year.
He has only managed to make seven Premier League games thus far, playing in just 8% of the available minutes. In total, he has made just ten appearances and played 352 minutes in all competitions.
Due to a meniscus tear sustained back in August, he has missed the majority of the season and has only made sporadic appearances for Brighton since his return in February.
This week, there were rumors that he would sustain another injury and be sidelined this weekend; however, a report from yesterday seemed to dispel that possibility.
The player has now moved to do the same, stating that everything is fine and that the reason he isn’t in Brighton’s squad is because he has fluid in his knee, which has prevented him from practicing normally and forced Roberto de Zerbi to decide against taking any chances.
“The remarks that are made that are not in line with my character hurt me even more because they come from my own countrymen,” he stated.
I take great care of myself, so I feel sad for what people say about me since it is untrue. Playing here is difficult due to the intense competition.
“I’m always willing to work with the National Team. If the coach calls, I want to compete in the Copa América and then concentrate on the Olympics.
