‘It is a criminal crime,’ Wrexham warn their own supporters after they are accused of engaging in ‘dangerous’ behaviour.

Consequently, what happened?
As Wrexham prepares for a pivotal match against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, April 13, the stakes are high. If this game goes well, the team might secure promotion to League One. The team, who are now in second place, will advance on Saturday if they triumph and Barrow and MK Dons lose.

Remembering the emotional rollercoaster that comes with such momentous occasions, Wrexham stressed how important it is to remain polite. In a statement, the club thanked the supporters for their unflinching support throughout the season and acknowledged the important role they played in keeping Phil Parkinson’s team motivated in their first EFL campaign since 2008. It did, however, also serve as a subtle warning to fans about the need to protect the pitch’s integrity in light of the upcoming home game against Stockport at STok Cae Ras.

WHAT WREXHAM SAID

A statement from the club read: “All at Wrexham AFC, including players and staff, are beyond grateful for your fantastic support over the course of the season, both home and away, that has spurred Phil Parkinson and his side on in our first campaign in the EFL since 2008.

“Should results go our way this weekend, there is a possibility that the Club could gain promotion against Forest Green Rovers at the STōK Cae Ras. The Club wishes to remind supporters that it is crucial the pitch is kept to its usual high standards, given we still have a home game on the final day of the season. With that in mind, we wish to remind supporters about the implications of any potential pitch invasions, at any point, during the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

“At the close of the previous season, some clubs saw foul and unwanted scenes as a minority of fans entered the field of play while other supporters joyfully gathered on the field. Entering the field is against the law, and many people have suffered the real-world repercussions of this behavior. Some fans have criminal histories, which can negatively affect their ability to get work, further their education, and travel abroad.

“Pitch incursions are perilous, and anyone who does trespass onto the playing field faces severe consequences that may include being barred from all future STōK Cae Ras games as well as matches across the nation, in addition to potential police action. You are not the only one who can be reprimanded; the club may also be subject to penalties. We kindly encourage fans to refrain from any needless disruption at this vital juncture in our season-long struggle for promotion and to remember that the field is for players and the stands are for spectators.”

WERE YOU AWARENESS?
There are three automatic promotion slots in League One, which are presently held by Stockport, Wrexham, and Mansfield. Moreover, there is a chance for one more club to advance in the playoffs, in which the fourth through seventh-place teams will square off for the playoff championship soon after the regular season ends.

Next?
As Wrexham makes its way through the last few games of the regular season, the road to promotion is almost complete. The upcoming games hold great importance. On Saturday at 15:00 (BST), the team will play at home against Forest Green Rovers, who are in danger of relegation. The next Saturday, they travel to play-off-chasing Crewe Alexandra, where the game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 (BST). A home game against league leaders Stockport on April 27 at 15:00 (BST) marks the season’s finale and might be the Reds’ defining moment. In the 159-year history of the club, Wrexham’s promotion would be a significant turning point as it might lead to the club’s first-ever back-to-back promotions.
