Amidst the current controversy surrounding the Dundee-SPFL encounter, BBC journalist and commentator Tam Cowan has taken aim at Rangers and Philippe Clement.

As cited by the Scottish Sun, Cowan accused Clement of living in a glass house for his remarks on the fixture during a live appearance on BBC Radio Scotland’s Off The Ball on April 13. Cowan also called Gers an embarrassment.

He brought up the ensuing tumult in 2012, saying it damaged the standing of the Scottish game.

Let us know if you have any theories, Cowan said. Nonetheless, there has been a component of glasshouse dwellers.

“Philippe Clement was sulking about how embarrassing the Dundee game was for Scottish football.”

“Philippe ought to consider the shame his own club brought to Scottish football in 2012,” the statement reads.

Rangers’ Cowan misses the point, and Philippe Clement has every right to criticize Dundee for the condition of their pitch, since it has caused the match to be postponed for a second time.

Given that his team’s performance and outcomes are constantly monitored, the Belgian is understandably upset with the state of affairs as a football manager.

The Rangers’ title challenge may be impacted by the postponement, and Clement’s job security may be in jeopardy because of uncontrollable circumstances.

Moreover, he has every right to express his worries over the pitch and how it would affect the standing of Scottish football.

Though any football manager would have legitimate concerns, his remarks were more focused on the current problem of the unplayable surface than they were on Dundee’s financial status or previous mistakes.

Cowan makes a valid argument about individuals living in glass homes, but it’s important that he give a fair assessment of the situation while taking the club’s and Clement’s possible outcomes into account.

The problem involves more than simply historical occurrences or financial choices; it also involves the teams’ current struggles and the effect they are having on the competition.
