Oliver Glasner has told his Crystal Palace players they need to “stay humble” after their 1-0 victory at Liverpool.

Eberechi Eze scored the only goal as the Eagles emerged from Anfield with maximum points and opened up an eight-point gap over the bottom three.

It was Glasner’s second win as Palace boss as they put a dent in their opponent’s hopes of winning the Premier League title.

“Next week we face West Ham and we need the same spirit and the same power,” Glasner told BBC’s Match of the Day. “I think today will give us confidence, but we need to stay humble. We will have an intense training week again, we will analyse well but it is always to do your job at your best level because we are playing against the best teams. Again, a great win for Crystal Palace and the team.

“It’s an outstanding win at Anfield, it’s so difficult to win here. How they played, especially in the first half, is so nice to see. In the second half, there was a lot of pressure from Liverpool. Congratulations to the team on this performance today.

“It’s what we always talk about. Tomorrow we can say we did it our way, you can always lose here, but it’s about being able to express yourself and play with confidence. We cleared many situations under pressure with one or two touches. We scored an amazing goal. it’s about confidence, team spirit, passion.”

There was a clean sheet for Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson as the South Londoners halted a 13-game winless run in the Premier League against Liverpool.

The Reds had been unbeaten in 28 league matches at Anfield, a sequence stretching back to October 2022.

“Coming to places like this, you know you’re going to be busy,” Henderson told BBC’s Match of the Day. “I’m delighted to be back this time around, it’s a team effort.

“The amount of blocks, passes across, blocks. They made save after save for me, I had to make saves as well.

“I felt like I was out there for about a year! We rode our luck at times – but I’m delighted.

“The lads believed we could do something today on the coach today, the pressure was on them. If we play our stuff and once bodies come back, with what the manager has got us doing, we will be playing good stuff.

“I feel good this time around, I feel fit and I’ve got a smile on my face.”
