Following Nottingham Forest’s draw with Wolves, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo provided an update on two of his key players.

The Reds needed to win the match at City Ground, but they were denied after two goals from Matheus Cunha, who had a good afternoon.

Danilo added another goal to his tally and Morgan Gibbs-White scored for Forest, who celebrated in front of the Wolves supporters.

Next Saturday, the Reds will need to improve slightly against Everton, as it appears to be a fiercely contested match.

Espirito Santo gave an update on two of his injured players following yesterday’s game, and it is hoped that they will recover quickly.

An update on two Forest stars is provided by Nuno Espirito Santo.
Well, when it comes to injuries, it never rains—it just pours at Forest. Anthony Elanga joined Taiwo Awoniyi on the treatment table yesterday, so the Reds had to make do without him.

Elanga sustained a minor injury, and it was unfortunate that he was unable to play against Wolves. It could have been best to use his speed against a team that was prone to counterattacking.

Espirito Santo was available to deliver an update on the injured pair following yesterday’s match, and it might be good news coming up on a challenging trip to Everton the following week.

We’ll just have to wait and see, he said to Nottinghamshire Live. Elanga and Awoniyi are both making progress on their own, but they weren’t available today. Let’s hold off until the next one.

Elanga contributed 13 goals to the 2023–2024 campaign. He cost £15 million to acquire from Manchester United, and he has shown to be incredibly cost-effective.

Awoniyi has scored six goals so far. Union Berlin paid him £18 million to check in, but injuries have prevented him from making a splash this season.

Next week, Forest needs both players to be healthy.
Yesterday, the Reds truly missed Elanga. Wolves could not have used the in-form player in the end, despite the fact that his pace could have caused havoc.

Regarding Awoniyi, several issues have marred his season, and it appeared doubtful that he would play again this year.

At least, though, that sounds like a good update, and maybe both players can be included in the Everton squad.

Although their survival is not assured, the two are crucial to Forest and their luck this season.

Both Elanga and Awoniyi will be praying they can be fit for next week and the hope will be that the Forest squad can be bolstered by the duo.
