According to insiders who spoke to Football Insider, David Moyes is expected to quit West Ham this summer, and the team is prepared to begin the search for a new manager.
On Monday, April 15, Football Insider reported that the Irons are now “more and more likely” to part with the 60-year-old.
The former manager of Manchester United disclosed in February that he had an offer to stay on at West Ham.
However, an amicable split between the two parties is anticipated this summer, with the London club starting to implement the backup plan they established earlier in the season.
With their next hire, West Ham executives are reportedly eager to take a different approach and move away from the conservative style of football that won many supporters over to Moyes’ side despite his achievements.
With Moyes expected to depart, West Ham is poised to name an offensive manager.
Football Insider has learned from sources that Moyes is considering taking on a new challenge at this point in his career.
Tim Steidten, the technical director of West Ham, and the former Manchester United manager have a tense working relationship. Shortly after Steidten’s arrival last summer (2023), the two had a disagreement about summer recruits.
Moyes has helped the Irons reach a third consecutive European quarter-final – and went all the way to lift the Europa Conference League with the club last term.
However, the Londoners are presently ranked ninth in the Premier League and trail Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 overall going into their second leg of the Europa League quarterfinal.
