David Moyes’s contract with West Ham United is up for renewal after the current campaign.

Despite investing a lot of money in the summer to sign players like James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez, and Mohammed Kudus after Declan Rice left for Arsenal, the Hammers have had a difficult season.

The team is in the Europa League quarterfinals and will try to overcome a 2-0 deficit against German champions Bayer Leverkusen in order to improve on their 14th place Premier League performance from the previous season.

When does West Ham fire Moyes?
A Europa League departure on Thursday would reportedly put more pressure on Moyes, who led the Hammers to the Europa Conference League the previous season.

Moyes is unlikely to go before the end of the season unless he chooses to walk away, but HITC reports that a number of club officials have informed owner David Sullivan that it’s time to let go of the 60-year-old after the conclusion of the campaign.

The Hammers manager stated early in the season that he would have the option to stay or leave and that a new contract was on the table.

According to HITC, discussions have already taken place with players like Paulo Fonseca and Graham Potter, and there is a belief inside the team that they may be able to persuade Thomas Tuchel, the former manager of Chelsea, to visit the London Stadium.

Moyes will, however, continue to be in control until Sullivan makes a decision, so supporters will need to rally with the club for the balance of the season.

In order to qualify for any kind of European football, West Ham needs to pull together a solid run in their next five games, since they are currently sitting eighth, one point ahead of Chelsea, who have played two less games.
