Tomas Soucek just revealed something incredibly puzzling and damaging about the West Ham United supporters.

Tomas Soucek is the midfielder for West Ham, and he never holds back when voicing his opinions.

The Czech Republic international is a straightforward guy, but sometimes it’s best to keep things to yourself!

Soucek recently agreed to extend his existing terms, which were scheduled to expire in the summer.

The 6ft 4in midfielder has actually been in decent form this season, but he has always been the target of criticism from some sections of the fanbase for his lack of technical ability.

Now, he will be in line for even more criticism after his latest comments…

Tomas Soucek makes damning admission about the West Ham fans

Big Tom has made somewhat of a Freudian slip it seems…and not for the first time.

Back in March, Soucek candidly suggested that some Hammers fans are not true supporters:

“It is very difficult to be honest, because our fans are so up and down. When we won the cup, everyone was behind us… it was great, we love them and enjoy it with them. But now after a year, we were seventh or sixth in the league, we can play still in the Europa League and in a great position, but we didn’t feel they are behind us, so it’s difficult for us on the pitch, we need them.”

Those strange comments from the 29-year-old obviously got the West Ham fans’ backs up, understandably so.

And now he’s been at it again with yet more disparaging remarks about us as a fanbase…

Soucek suggested that fans inside the London Stadium on European nights generate a better atmosphere than on other occasions, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Against Sevilla, the atmosphere was the best I’ve ever heard and it was a night to remember. I scored the first goal and Andriy [Yarmolenko] scored the second. It was one of the best nights I have had here. We came home and knew it was going to be difficult, because they [Sevilla] were a good side and had won the Europa League three years in a row before that. It was quite tough, but together with the fans we got through it. We notice a difference to the fans on European nights, because in the warm-up we feel the atmosphere and that everyone is behind us. We know in European football that the fans are always behind us, even if we are losing.”

What an utterly bizarre thing to say.

Sure, the fans aren’t always bouncing inside the London Stadium but that’s totally understandable given the style of football being served up by Moyes.

Maybe the comments from Tomas Soucek have been slightly lost in translation – I highly doubt that he would have meant to insult the West Ham fans.

That’s what he’s done with those comments though, and I for one didn’t appreciate what the former Slavia Prague man had to say about us.
