The Wrexham team, having been promoted to the highest level of League 2 the previous season, has made a cheeky request to their Hollywood owners.
Wrexham knew going into the game this past weekend that winning would mean both their first-ever promotion to the third division and the relegation of their opponents, Forest Green Rovers.
Despite gaining the lead against Mansfield, MK Dons ultimately lost 4-1, which was all that was necessary to deprive the Welsh team.
Wrexham meanwhile did exactly what they needed to do and they did so in style, battering Forest Green 6-0 securing their historic promotion to League 1.
At full time, spectators flocked to the pitch at the Racecourse to celebrate, creating a festive atmosphere.
The triumph is the most recent development in their remarkable tale under the ownership of Hollywood moguls Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, who took over in 2021.
As a thank you for winning the National League title the previous season, the owners took the victorious team to Las Vegas for a sumptuous trip, where they were supposedly “treated like royalty,” as Wrexham player Ben Tozer revealed via talkSPORT.
Tozer added that the team has already cheekily informed Reynolds and McElhenney of their expectations and that they want for another extravagant celebration.
“All we’ve really told them is, ‘Try to outperform last year if you can!'” That’s all “Tozer chuckled.
The 34-year-old was tacitly optimistic about Wrexham’s chances of going three for three in the upcoming season, but he cautioned against the team getting ahead of itself.
“I don’t see why the club can’t but at the same time, let’s just enjoy this one while it’s here and take the next one as it comes,” he said.
Elliott Lee was questioned about it immediately following the Forest Green game, so Tozer wasn’t the only player to make jokes about what his superstar owners might have in store.
“I’m not sure if they’ve messaged anyone at this point. After every game, Ryan usually sends us a message, so I’m sure he’ll message soon—actually, they both will, to be fair. He told BBC Sport, “We’ve just instructed them to start the jet for Vegas.
