TalkSPORT reports that West Ham United manager David Moyes is “increasingly likely” to depart the London Stadium this summer.
On Thursday, April 18, the outlet published a story on its website stating that, despite the Scotsman’s claims, he has not yet signed a contract for a new engagement in East London that will last past the end of the current campaign.
The Scotsman’s strained relationship with some West Ham supporters is known to the Irons board and Moyes, and sports director Tim Steidten is already compiling a list of possible replacements.
Although Steidten and Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, have a great relationship, it is unclear if Steidten is one of the Hammers’ goals.
Due his ties to Thomas Tuchel, David Moyes is expected to depart West Ham United.
In recent months, Moyes has been under increasing pressure at the London Stadium as supporters have grown weary of the West Ham manager’s defensive-first approach to football, especially when playing the bigger teams.
There is a general belief among fans that a younger, more astute manager could be able to maximize the Irons’ talent, especially with players like Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta currently flourishing in claret and blue.
It is unclear at this point if Moyes will choose to stay on when the season ends, but it looks like there will be a new face in the Hammers’ dugout when the next campaign begins.
It can’t be good for anyone connected at the London Stadium to not have a manager in place this late in the season and so close to the transfer window, so perhaps the Irons administration can clarify things sooner rather than later.
