John Lundstram is’set’ to sign with Ipswich Town this summer, according to Turkish reports.

The Rangers midfielder’s current deal expires in the summer, and despite continued negotiations with the Ibrox team, no deal has been agreed. As a result, the Scouser will be allowed to walk at the end of the current campaign. Trabzonspor had been strongly linked to him, but the Turkish team has apparently withheld its offer. It was stated there that Lundstram was looking for a €2 million contract to play in the Super Lig the next season.

According to Gunebakis, the Tractor Boys are now in the lead in the race to land Lundstram and are prepared to capture their target. Leeds and Leicester City are vying with the Portman Road team for the Championship title. Town, who are presently leading the table and have two games remaining against their two championship challengers, are coached by Kieran McKenna, a former Manchester United player.

Should they receive an automatic promotion down the line, McKenna is looking for top-tier experience. And after playing for Sheffield United for two years in the English Premier League, Lundstram makes that offer. In their inaugural campaign, he played a key role in Chris Wilder’s success, but he was unable to prevent the Blades from dropping out the following season.

After Rangers won their first Premiership title in ten years under Steven Gerrard, he then joined the team. Under Gio van Bronckhorst, Lundstram was a key member of the team that advanced to the Europa League final and scored the game-winning goal in the team’s semifinal triumph over RB Leipzig.
