The Cincinnati Bengals have a lot of options for their first-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, which makes things interesting for them.

The Bengals are looking at UCLA running back Carson Steele, but the later-round selections might be the draft’s real steals.

Steele moved from Ball State to UCLA ahead of the 2023 season in an effort to demonstrate his ability to compete at the top level in the PAC-12. In 2023, he gained 847 yards and six touchdowns.

The position that NFL teams envision Steele playing was discussed by Steele in an interview with The Draft Network.

“I’m kind of hearing the same thing. It’s mainly been running back and a little fullback. Like you said, some teams see me moving around, that whole tight end sort of deal. Honestly, whatever gets me on the field, that’s what it’s going to be.”

He continued, “I’m just excited to learn anything and everything. I want to play on special teams as well. I just want a chance to get out there and help the team.”

As for the teams showing interest, Steele had in-person visits with the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders. He also attended the Colts’ local day. However, he has also met with some teams virtually.

“Those are all correct. I’ve had a few. I met with the Bengals and Dolphins virtually as well. I have one coming up with the 49ers as well.”

Steele just wants a chance to get on the field and help whichever team drafts him win. That team might just be Cincinnati. Steele is another name to keep an eye on during next week’s draft.
