Regarding the date when his Wrexham players’ futures will be decided upon after promotion, Phil Parkinson has provided an update.

Wrexham wrapped off their away games for the 23/24 season in fine fashion on Saturday, defeating Crewe Alexandra 3-0.

In the last five away games, Phil Parkinson’s team has won four of them, indicating a turnaround in their away performance.

The Reds will play their final game of the season at home against Stockport County the following weekend as they get ready for life in League One.

Parkinson acknowledges that Wrexham will be in the third tier for the first time in 2005 and that proper preparation will be necessary because of the significant jump.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds will provide the former Bradford City manager with an enormous budget, but he must first decide the destiny of his current team.

Updates on Wrexham players without contracts are provided by Phil Parkinson.
A busy summer is ahead for Wrexham in terms of both arrivals and departures.

Eight players currently on the Welsh team have contracts that expire this summer: midfielder Luke Young, utility man James McClean, defenders Callum McFadzean, Ben Tozer, Aaron Hayden, and Jordan Tunnicliffe, and goalkeepers Mark Howard and Rob Lainton.

Though the Irishman recently turned 35, McClean is the one player on that list that Wrexham should really contemplate offering a new contract.

After speaking with Shaun Harvey, the sporting director, Parkinson does, in fact, want the team to decide his players’ fate as quickly as possible.

According to The Leader, Parkinson stated: “I have discussed our approach to everything with Shaun Harvey and will speak with him and the owners again this week.

Numerous players are without contracts.

It is necessary for staff members to sit down and make the appropriate decisions regarding players.

“Of course you have got to let people know about their futures as soon as we can but equally, we want to make the right decisions and that is what we intend to do.

“We will have further talks this week and made the decisions we feel are right for the individual and for the team going forward.”

Wrexham needs a new roster.
Wrexham may undergo a roster change as up to eight players are expected to leave the Racecourse this summer.

After a promotion, it is not unusual for a team to make drastic changes to its roster. Tozer, Young, and Howard are three players in their 30s who are nearing the end of their careers; the Reds need to find younger players to replace them.

Parkinson hopes to settle his players’ contracts as quickly as possible in order to free up spots for the targets he wants to sign.

Among them is goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who Wrexham wants to get on a free transfer but will return to Arsenal at the end of his loan period.

According to journalist Nathan Salt, Okonkwo has been a revelation between the sticks and keeping the 22-year-old might portend a prosperous summer for business.

The long-serving Young and Tozer are among the few Wrexham players whose careers are coming to an end. The Reds will aim to make the most of their final goodbyes by defeating Stockport the following Saturday.
