Just saying “See you Saturday” in a three-word message, Ruben Amorim sent it on Monday after returning from London. To meet with West Ham authorities, the manager of Sporting Lisbon took a plane to the UK.

After exercising with Sporting on Monday, Amorim was seen departing Portugal in the company of billionaire Raul Costa.

The players of Sporting have been granted a Tuesday and Wednesday off in anticipation of this Sunday’s crucial matchup with rivals Porto.

Amorim used the downtime to go to London and have meetings with the West Ham executives.

With David Moyes’ contract expiring and his departure anticipated, the Hammers are evaluating their managerial possibilities in advance of the summer.

Another name floated as a possible Moyes replacement is former Real Madrid and Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui.

Despite the rumors, Amorim chose to concentrate on Sporting’s next games rather than talk about where he had been on Monday.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, he arrived back in Portugal, where he was questioned by several journalists about his vacation and his future plans.

He grinned and said, “See you Saturday,” referring to his upcoming news appearance.

Amorim is currently in high demand after being strongly connected to the soon-to-be-vacant Liverpool position, as Jurgen Klopp is expected to go.

The 39-year-old reportedly had discussions with the Reds, according to talkSPORT, despite not currently being regarded as the front-runner.

Prior to winning the Primeira Liga in his first full season with Sporting, Amorim won the Taca de Liga, or Portuguese League Cup, with his former team Braga. This marks his completion of Portuguese football.

With Sporting leading the table by seven points and preparing to play Porto in the Taca de Liga final, they now have the chance to win both the league and the cup this season.

Sporting’s next opponent is Porto, and Amorim is obviously focusing all of his attention on the crucial matchup with the Portuguese powerhouse.

If he prevails in both contests, it might be the ideal way to part ways amicably and be ready for a fresh challenge in the Premier League.
