Wrexham has secured back-to-back promotions and is preparing for a go at League One the following season.
Through a resounding victory over Forest Green Rovers earlier in the month, the Red Dragons guaranteed their promotion to the third division of English football.
Phil Parkinson’s team won 6-0 thanks to goals from Jack Marriott, Elliot Lee, Paul Mullin, Ryan Barnett, and an own goal from Ryan Inniss.
Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, Wrexham, who are backed by Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, could be looking to spend big once again.
Here are five players Wrexham could sign this summer.
Macaulay Langstaff
With 28 goals and six assists in 45 League Two games this season, the Notts County striker has been in excellent form up front.
According to recent speculations, Langstaff could be a potential upfront partner for Paul Mullin at Wrexham.
Jodi Jones
Another player from Notts County that Wrexham may want to sign is Jones, who has amassed 23 assists in 42 games this season, making him the assist king in the fourth division of English football.
The 26-year-old is a nominee for the Player of the Season award in Sky Bet League Two.
Ben Woodburn
In 2016, Welshman Woodburn scored against Leeds United in the EFL Cup to become Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer.
But since then, the forward’s situation has not improved, and following a difficult stint with Preston North End, a free transfer back to his own country may be imminent.
Arthur Okonkwo
Following a standout season while on loan from Premier League team Arsenal, Okonkwo may return to Wrexham.
It has been previously speculated that if Okonkwo becomes a free agent, Wrexham would be involved in a mad dash for transfers.
The 22-year-old’s current contract is about to expire at the end of the current campaign, and Arsenal has not yet extended an offer to him.
Joe Allen
A player once dubbed ‘The Welsh Xavi’ by Brendan Rodgers when he signed for Liverpool, Allen has been playing in the Championship over the last few seasons for the likes of Stoke City and Swansea City.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign, a move to Wrexham to round off his career could appeal to Allen.
