Julio Enciso, a young player for Brighton & Hove Albion, has stated he will meet with the team to talk about his desire to represent Paraguay at the Olympics this summer.
The young player has been talking to La Nacion about his aspirations to go international and how that might put him in conflict with Brighton.
Enciso has struggled with a meniscus tear, appearing in just ten games and logging 352 minutes for the Seagulls this season.
He’s still working to fully recover from it, and usually he would take the summer to fully heal before making a comeback the following season.
However, that has been complicated by Paraguay’s qualification for this summer’s Olympics in Paris, which he would normally be assured to participate in.
Brighton won’t likely be at ease with that, either, considering how much of the season he’s missed due to injuries.
He acknowledged that he is arranging a meeting with the Seagulls to discuss the situation and try to come to a resolution, suggesting that he is aware of it.
“I really enjoy training, and as long as I have the strength, I will always have the desire to play football,” he declared.
“My goal is to be a professional player, and I will not give up until I realize this dream. I want to represent Paraguay in the World Cup.”
“I have to meet with the Brighton management, and we will discuss that matter as well. I’d like to compete in any championship with the national team; it’s a different sensation for me, so I hope it’s feasible.
I’m recovering from an injury, so it’s going to be difficult, but I’m going to exert every effort. I believe so; we need to speak. The national team is everything to me; I always want to be a member of it and I want to accomplish something that will bring great joy to the people and the nation. I want to do this and I won’t give up.
