Bruno Guimarães of Newcastle United is being linked to a few rumors as the summer transfer window draws closer. The Brazilian is a key target for Paris Saint-Germain, who are looking to strengthen their midfield, but the transfer hasn’t advanced too far.
PSG appears to be well-positioned to benefit financially this summer, particularly if Kylian Mbappé departs as reported. To bolster the position, they can decide to spend money on a top-tier midfielder.
However, despite recent speculations, Fabrizio Romano, a transfer window specialist, gave the most recent information on Guimarães.
In his CaughtOffside blog, Romano stated, “We’ve had more stories about Bruno Guimaraes, this time being linked with Manchester City.” Bruno is currently being linked to every elite team in the world, including City, Arsenal, PSG, United, and all the clubs, as was previously noted in recent days.
“It’s typical that all these teams like and support Bruno, but nothing is particularly groundbreaking or solid as of yet, based on my sources. There are now no negotiations going on; it will take a few days or weeks to get further information. Nothing new has changed.
In an attempt to entice Guimarães away from the Magpies, other teams are lining up to offer nearly the entire £100 million release clause that the Newcastle star has as part of his recently signed contract extension.
However, all of these teams—including PSG—will have to wait, as reporter Rudy Galetti just revealed that the situation with the former phenomenon from Olympique Lyonnais will be resolved following the Copa América.
