Many of Leeds United’s top players are on loan until the summer, and one of them has expressed a desire to stay with his loan team permanently.

Senior players who had the clause added to their contracts were able to leave the team on loan upon relegation according to Victor Orta’s relegation loan clause. Max Wober, Jack Harrison, and many others left Leeds during that time.

Since then, Luis Sinisterra and Robin Koch have concluded their loans into long-term agreements. The summer is yet unknown for six more players, including Marc Roca, who made an impression at Betis in the beginning.

After three challenging seasons, the left-footed midfield player made his way back to Spain from Espanyol. In just two seasons with the German team, he made just 24 appearances after joining Bayern Munich in 2020.

At under £10 million, Leeds appeared to have gotten a good deal when they signed him. But Roca found it difficult to win over supporters at Elland Road, so he left the team to join Betis, where he made an early impression before losing his position due to injury.

Roca told ABC Sevilla that he is “happy” with the La Liga team and is eager to join on a permanent basis, despite dropping out of the lineup at Betis. However, it’s unclear if Betis really desire the midfield player on a long-term basis.

Marc Roca says he is “happy” at Betis and wants Leeds exit

Quoted by Sport Witness, Roca said: “I’ve always said that I am happy at Betis. How the fans have treated me is incredible. In the end it is up to my representative, the sports management, Betis, Leeds and God.”

Roca has made his mind up and wants a permanent exit from Leeds to Betis. The 49ers will be keen to offload Roca, along with other players out on loan given how badly fans reacted to them jumping ship.

But it all depends on whether Betis are willing to cough up the cash necessary to sign him. Leeds paid £10m to sign Roca and given his form back in his home country, it is likely a similar fee is expected.
