The incredibly gifted Amarius Mims of the University of Georgia was taken by the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, and they feel he will be their franchise right tackle.

Mims has the most potential of any lineman in the 2024 NFL Draft class, according to several draft analysts, but some are worried about his history of injuries and lack of college starts.

His ambition of being selected in the NFL Draft has come true, and with it, life-altering financial rewards. The Bengals’ contract information for Mims was made public on Friday. The rookie compensation scale is mostly set by the position at which he was taken in the draft.

Per Spotrac, Mims is looking at a four-year contract worth $15.3 million. The deal will include a $7.9 million signing bonus. The deal is fully guaranteed and includes a fifth-year option for 2028.

If it all pans out with Mims as planned, the fifth-year option will likely be a bargain for the Bengals as the salary cap and contract numbers rise.

Mims will learn behind Orlando Brown Jr. and Trent Brown in his first season, and if recent history holds true, Mims may find himself on the field as a rookie. Over the last three seasons, the Bengals have had to use a reserve tackle on an average of five weeks per season.

The vision for the offensive line is clear – Brown Jr. and Mims are slotted to become the bookend tackles of the next decade (hopefully).
