Football Insider has been informed by insiders that Kemar Roofe is “likely” to depart Rangers this summer.

Roofe, 31, is anticipated to leave Ibrox as a free agent after his contract expires, according to transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, who made this revelation on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Rangers is not likely to extend an offer to the forward, who is rumored to be keen to look into his alternatives during the summer transfer window given interest from English clubs.

Football Insider was informed on April 12 by reliable sources that Queens Park Rangers, Fulham, Sheffield United, and Southampton are preparing approaches for the former Leeds player.

This summer, Kemar Roofe will finish his four-year Rangers career.
Roofe has scored 38 goals in 100 games across all competitions during his stellar four years at Ibrox.

Under Steven Gerrard, he contributed to the team’s 2020–21 league triumph and their subsequent run to the Europa League final.

The attacker has only made seven starts across all competitions this season due to injury, though.

It is thought that manager Philippe Clement is anxious to lower the average age of his team this summer and to build his team in his own image.

Rangers, who currently trail league leaders Celtic by three points, just secured their place in the Scottish Cup final with a 2-0 victory over Hearts on Sunday, April 21.

On Sunday afternoon (April 28), they will return to league action on the road against St Mirren.
