On the morning of the second NFL Draft, there is an intriguing development coming out of the Los Angeles Rams’ practice facility.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport (via JPAFootball), Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford is apparently looking for additional guaranteed money with an altered contract that extends past the 2024 season.

He believes he has a lot left. A little bit of a lingering issue this offseason for the Rams,” Rapoport said

It is hard to find a better competitor in the league than Stafford.

Before battling injuries the last two seasons, the multi-time Pro Bowl quarterback won his first Super Bowl in 2021 after coming over from the Detroit Lions.

The 36-year-old is about to enter his 16th career NFL season, and his fourth with Sean McVay and the Rams.

The former No. 1 overall pick currently sits at 11th all-time in passing yards (56,047), 11th in passing touchdowns (357), and 11th in completions (4,834).

He has had a very solid career and should be up for an induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame when his career is over.

That much should be understood by NFL fans.

But as Rapoport writes, the veteran still believes he has a lot left in his tank.

With Stafford having Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua out wide and after a return to the playoffs a season ago, this Rams team should not be slept on by any team
