Leeds United’s summer transfer budget may receive a boost after a top player for the Whites declared he wanted to turn a loan from Elland Road into a permanent move.
One of the Whites’ biggest summer additions before the previous year was Marc Roca, a former midfielder for Bayern Munich, although he had minimal effect as Leeds were demoted from the Premier League. After having a good season at the Benito Villamarín Stadium, the Spaniard left on a season-long loan move to La Liga team Real Betis. Now that the Whites had begun their Championship promotion campaign, he is eager to make that move permanent.
He stated, “I have always said that I am happy at Betis,” in an interview with ABC Sevilla. I’m amazed at how the fans have treated me. From the staff as well as my teammates, I believe I’m having a great season. That is my main concern. It is ultimately up to God, Betis, Leeds, my representative, and the sports management.
Tractor Boys boss confirms injury to assist machine
One of the key factors in Ipswich Town’s push for promotion into the Premier League has been the stunning form of left-back Leif Davis.
In 42 Championship games, the Newcastle-born defender has contributed two goals and an amazing 21 assists. As the Tractor Boys approach the last week of the season, they have a good chance of securing an automatic promotion spot behind Leicester City, the reigning champions. Davis’ availability for Tuesday’s trip to Coventry City and the following weekend’s home match against Huddersfield Town, though, is now in doubt due to an ankle injury he sustained during Saturday night’s 3-3 draw at Hull City.
Following the thrilling tie with the Tigers, McKenna was questioned about Davis’ injury and stated, “He’s limping pretty heavily.” He turned his ankle. It’s not a new problem for him. We’ll need to evaluate him throughout the next days.
