Captain James Tavernier is valued by Rangers at approximately £5 million, according to sources who spoke with Football Insider.

The massive Scottish Premiership team is reportedly willing to take an offer for the 32-year-old full-back that is comparable in value.

With two years remaining on his contract at Ibrox, Rangers captain Tavernier has been attracting long-term attention from Saudi team Al-Ettifaq, who is led by Steven Gerrard, the former manager of the Gers.

On March 20, Football Insider said that Rangers might have to sell the seasoned right-back if they receive an offer that is too good to turn down.

Some of the biggest names in football have already moved from Europe to the Saudi Pro League as a result of the football revolution in Saudi Arabia, attracted by the enormous salaries that the PiF-owned clubs are willing to pay.

Football Insider has learned via a reliable source that Al-Ettifaq is willing to give Tavernier a “huge” contract because head coach Gerrard is eager to work with the Englishman again.

James Tavernier is valued at £5 million, and Rangers are preparing an approach for him. Mark Allen and Gerrard are the main players pushing the deal for Tavernier, and they both have a relationship with the player.

After making him Rangers captain in July 2018, the former midfielder for Liverpool went on to establish himself as a highly respected figure in Glasgow’s blue area over his nine years with the team.

Though it’s said that Tavernier wouldn’t mind staying where he is now, the player would find it difficult to turn down a rich offer from Saudi Arabia.

This season, in 33 games in the Scottish Premiership, the full-back from Bradford has 17 goals and 8 assists.

He still has a chance to win his second league championship, but he will need to take the lead against Celtic, his bitter rivals, who now hold a three-point advantage with four games remaining.
