Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has said contract decisions will be made ‘fairly’ and ‘honestly’ this summer.
Wrexham have a few players who are due to become free agents in late June.
The Red Dragons are preparing for life in League One following their promotion alongside Stockport County and Mansfield Town.
Parkinson has had this to say regarding player exits, as per a report by The Leader: “There is the possibility of players moving on and that is the hard part of any manager’s job but we also know we have got to evolve as a club and we will try and do that. Decisions have got to be made and we will do them fairly and honestly.”
Wrexham exit plans
Wrexham’s goalkeeping department could be in line for a shake-up over the coming months. Arsenal loan man Arthur Okonkwo is heading back to his parent club whilst Mark Howard and Rob Lainton are both due to depart as things stand.
In defence, Ben Tozer, Aaron Hayden, Jordan Tunnicliffe and Callum McFadzean are all due to see their deals expire soon and the club have big decisions to make.
James McClean and Steven Fletcher fall into the same category after they only penned 12 months terms last year. The pair have both played Premier League football in the past and their experience would come in handy.
Captain Luke Young is also facing an uncertain future right now and is the longest serving player at the Racecourse Ground. The ex-Plymouth Argyle man joined in 2018 from Torquay United and has since made 216 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with 21 goals.
Wrexham will no doubt be ambitious on the transfer front when the next window opens as they look to take the third tier by storm.
The biggest challenge for them was getting out of the National League and they carried their momentum into the Football League which saw them finish 2nd this term behind their rivals Stockport County.
The sky is the limit for the Hollywood-backed outfit now and are poised to have a busy few months ahead of them.
