It looks set to be another summer of worry for Valencia, as they could be set to part ways with another of their key players. Giorgi Mamardashvili looks to be a strong candidate to go, with interest rising in his services.
Following on from news that Atletico Madrid are considering Mamardashvili as a possible replacement for Jan Oblak, it’s now been reported by inews that Newcastle United hold an interest in the Georgian international, having scouted him on multiple occasions.
The Premier League side are one of the richest clubs in the world, and there’s little doubt that they would be able to match Valencia’s asking price for Mamardashvili, despite their well-documented struggles with Financial Fair Play.
It remains to be seen whether Mamardashvili goes end up leaving Valencia in the summer. Club officials are preparing for it, as it’s been reported recently that possible replacements are already starting to be identified.
