At least one rumor claims that the Kansas City Chiefs are ready for a significant suspension for Rashee Rice.
NFL reporter James Palmer implied that the Chiefs are prepared for Rice to get a suspension for his involvement in a car accident on March 30 during a recent interview on Steve Smith Sr.’s YouTube podcast. Palmer stated that Rice will likely miss “half the season, at least,” for the Chiefs.
Prior rumors indicated that the Chiefs anticipated a suspension of several games; however, it might have easily meant a suspension of four to six games. It sounds like Rice might miss more like eight or 10 weeks based on this.
Because of his involvement in the March 30 high-speed vehicle accident, Rice is being charged with several felonies. Due to the collision, he is also being sued in civil court by at least two accident victims.
If Rice is out for an extended amount of time, the Chiefs will need to find a replacement quarterback. During the regular season, the rookie wide receiver caught 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
